Third semester course offered by MSc Mathematics programme

This course deals with the fundamentals of different types of operators and functions defined on arbitrary spaces. In previous semesters, students dealt with various types of spaces and its properties. Here in this course we generalize the spaces as normed spaces and inner product spaces and deal with their properties. The completion of the spaces and properties of functions defined these spaces will also be discussed.

Basic Topology is a fundamental course on Topological spaces. In this course we outline the concept of distance and extend it onto an arbitrary space as a metric and define it as a metric space. Further, we generalize the concept of open sets in a metric space and form a topology as the collection of open sets in an arbitrary set with out the use of a metric. We then deal with different types of topological spaces, it's properties and about functions defined on  spaces.
