This is a common course offered to the II Semester students of BA, BSc, and BCom(Model I, II&III) Programmes. The course aims at sensitizing the learners to contemporary issues of concern. 

Introduce the students to the basics of language and literary theories.

Course Outcomes

techniques of representation

3 Focus on the periods of literature and examine the varieties

of language

4 Evaluate the significance of the periods of literature with

special reference to language variations

Linguistics is the scientific study of language, and its focus is the systematic investigation of the properties of particular languages as well as the characteristics of language in general.

American literature is literature written or produced in the United States and in the colonies that preceded it. The American literary tradition thus is part of the broader tradition of English Literaure, but also includes literature of other traditions produced in the United States.

Basic introdution to the theory of translation and an analysis of regional Indian literatures in translation

The course is prescribed for B.A and B. Sc students to understand the different classical works in Literature.

The course aims to introduce the theoretical and literary responses by women and the concerns that govern feminist literature.

The course introduces students to world literature.
